Lingo Nugget helps you translate, save, and review vocabulary while browsing. Use it lawfully, protect your account, and contact us if something goes wrong. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Creem and can be canceled from the billing portal.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lingo Nugget Chrome extension, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). “Lingo Nugget,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service.
By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be able to enter into a binding agreement where you live. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. The Service
Lingo Nugget identifies useful vocabulary on webpages, provides translation and pronunciation features, saves words and context, and supports spaced-repetition review and reminders. Some features require an account, network access, or an active trial or paid plan.
Language suggestions and machine-generated translations may be incomplete or inaccurate. The Service is a learning aid, not a substitute for professional translation or advice. You are responsible for checking important information before relying on it.
3. Accounts and security
You must provide an email address you control and keep your account information accurate. You are responsible for activity under your account and for protecting login codes and active sessions. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not sell, transfer, or share access in a way that evades plan limits or exposes another person’s data. We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or our providers.
4. Free trial, subscriptions, and billing
Eligible new accounts generally receive a 14-day free trial. No payment method is required for that account trial, and the trial does not automatically create a paid subscription. When the trial ends, saved-word review, pronunciation, and reminders remain available, while features identified in the product as paid may pause.
If you choose to subscribe, the current plan is $3.99 USD per month, before any tax shown at checkout. Your subscription automatically renews each month until canceled. The checkout page displays the final price, currency, tax, and billing interval before you confirm payment.
Creem acts as merchant of record for paid subscriptions and processes payments, taxes, invoices, refunds, and billing details. A purchase is also subject to Creem’s Buyer Terms of Service. Lingo Nugget does not receive or store your full card details.
We may change prices or plan features. Any price change applies only to a future billing period after any notice required by law or the billing provider. If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel before the next renewal.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time by opening Lingo Nugget’s Manage billing action and using the Creem customer portal. Unless the portal clearly states that cancellation is immediate, cancellation stops future renewal and paid access continues through the current paid billing period.
You may request a refund by emailing [email protected] within 14 days of the charge. Please include the email address used for the purchase and the reason for the request, but do not send full card details. We aim to respond within three business days. We may refuse requests involving fraud, abuse, or substantial use of the paid Service. After 14 days, charges are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or where the Service was not provided as described.
Approved refunds are processed through Creem to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may need additional time to post the refund. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable consumer cancellation, refund, or warranty rights that apply where you live.
6. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful personal or internal business purposes. You may not:
- use the Service to violate law, infringe rights, or process material you are not authorized to use;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, source code, or non-public interfaces;
- interfere with, overload, probe, scrape, or circumvent security, rate limits, trials, subscriptions, or access controls;
- introduce malware or use the Service to collect credentials or other sensitive information;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission; or
- misrepresent your relationship with Lingo Nugget or use our branding in a confusing way.
7. Your content and privacy
You retain any rights you have in words, phrases, sentences, URLs, preferences, and other material you submit or save through the Service (“Your Content”). You give us a limited, worldwide permission to host, transmit, process, reproduce, and display Your Content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
You are responsible for having permission to process Your Content. Avoid translating or saving confidential information, passwords, payment details, health information, or private communications unless you are authorized to do so. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Ownership and license
Lingo Nugget and its software, design, branding, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
Feedback is voluntary. If you send suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, while we remain responsible for our own implementation.
9. Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party services, including Chrome, Google services, Resend, Creem, Dictionary API, Railway, and Cloudflare. Their own terms and policies may apply. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for outages, changes, or acts outside our reasonable control.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service useful and available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features for operational, security, legal, or product reasons. When reasonably possible, we will provide notice of a material change that significantly reduces a paid feature.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by emailing [email protected] from the account address. Deleting or uninstalling the extension does not automatically cancel a paid subscription; cancel it separately through Manage billing.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or misuse the Service. When practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Sections that by their nature should continue—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, and liability limits—survive termination.
12. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. These disclaimers do not override warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lingo Nugget will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of USD $50 or the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide any additional notice required for a material change. Continuing to use the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept them, except where the law requires a different form of consent.
